The Perceptions of Islamic Career Prospects of Senior High School Students

Abstract

Islamic senior high school students’ career prospects are an important issue to be studied in the global society. The study was conducted through a descriptive survey study involving 188 senior high school students of the eleventh-grade of Islamic educational institutions in the region of Surabaya. The research data was collected by using questionnaire method and analyzed with descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The findings of this study show that 90.96% of respondents regard that Islamic career prospects are good based on the criteria of promotion, 87.77% of respondents regard that Islamic career prospects are good based on the
criteria of aspirations, 83.51% of respondents regard that Islamic career prospects are good based on the criteria of career goals, 80.32% of respondents regard that Islamic career prospects are good based on the criteria of compensation, and 72.87% of respondents regard that Islamic career prospects are good based on criteria of sustainability.

The Correlation between Self-Knowledge Aspect and Career-Knowledge Aspect with the Patterns Intensity of Career Choice on Senior High School Students

The career choice is an important aspect in the range of individual student progress. This research aims to examine: (1) the significance of correlation between self-knowledge aspect with students’ the patterns intensity of career choice, (2) the significance of correlation between career-knowledge aspect with students’ the patterns intensity of career choice, and (3) significance of the correlation between self-knowledge aspect and career-knowledge aspect together with students’ the patterns intensity of career choice. The findings of this research indicate (1) there is a significant positive correlation between self-knowledge aspect with students’ the patterns intensity of career choice, (2) there is a significant positive correlation between career-knowledge aspect with students’ the patterns intensity of career choice, (3) there is a significant positive correlation between self-knowledge aspect and caree4 knowledge aspect together with students’ the patterns intensity of career choice, (4) self-knowledge aspect and career-knowledge aspect of significantly as a good predictor of students’ the patterns intensity of career choice, and (5) an effective contribution of self-knowledge aspect and career-kowledge aspect towards students’ patterns intensity of career choice was 65.1%

Mengoptimalkan Fungsi Kognisi Melalui Pembelajaran Yang Menyenangkan

Pembelajaran yang menyenangkan merupakan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang digagas sebagai solusi cerdas untuk mengoptimalkan fungsi kognisi siswa dalam praksis pembelajaran di sekolah. Kognisi adalah suatu proses dimana siswa melakukan aksesing informasi, mengolah dan menyimpan dalam ingatan (memori) serta menggunakannya dalam berbagai aktivitas belajar. Pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dilakukan melalui tiga tahap: yaitu tahap perencanaan, dimana guru melakukan sejumlah persiapan yang harus dipenuhi sebelum menyelenggarakan pembelajaran di dalam kelas; tahap pelaksanaan, dimana guru menyelenggarakan pembelajaran di sekolah dengan menerapkan prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran yang menyenangkan; dan tahap evaluasi akhir, dimana guru melakukan evaluasi untuk mengetahui efektivitas penyelenggaraan pendekatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan yang mencakup evaluasi proses dan evaluasi hasil belajar.

The results of this research find that (1) computer-assisted career guidance is effective to make students’ career decision-making autonomy independent, (2) computer-assisted career guidance can significantly increase students’s self-knowledge, (3) computer-assisted career guidance can significantly increase students’ career-knowledge, (4) there was positive and significant correlation between self-knowledge aspect and career-knowledge aspect given simultaneously and students’ career decision-making autonomy given computer-assisted career guidance, (5) there was positive and significant between self-knowledge aspect and students’ career decision-making autonomy given computer-assisted career guidance, (6) there was no positive and significant correlation between career-knowledge aspect and students’ career decision-making autonomy given computer-assisted career guidance, and (7) an effective contribution of self-knowledge aspect and career-knowledge aspect towards students’ career decision-making autonomy given computer-assisted career guidance was 15,8%.

MENGEMBANGKAN BAKAT ANAK SEJAK DINI

Suatu kelemahan sistem pendidikan di negara kita dewasa ini ialah menekankan pada model pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pengembangan kemampuan ingatan (hafalan) dan mengabaikan pada fungsi berpikir inovatif yang ditandai dengan perilaku tekun dan inisiatif. Sesungguhnya pengembangan fungsi berpikir inovatif memainkan peranan yang sangat penting di dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) andal yang mampu bersaing dalam era globalisasi saat ini. Upaya mengarah pada penciptaan kondisi bebas secara psikologis yang memungkinkan potensi bakat anak dapat berkembang belum banyak dilakukan. Justru yang terjadi malah sebaliknya, yaitu menjadikan anak untuk mengikuti pola pola terstruktur, misalnya dalam ujian di sekolah membiasakan anak untuk memilih alternatif jawaban yang sudah disediakan, bersifat konvergen dan vertikal. Kondisi ini bila diteruskan, tidak hanya merugikan perkembangan anak, melainkan bangsa dan negara dapat kehilangan bibit unggulnya. Taman Kanak-kanak sebagai lembaga pendidikan prasekolah dan orang-tua harus mampu berperan membantu memupuk talenta dan kemampuan anak berbakat untuk membantu menyiapkan tenaga profesional ulung dan pemimpin masa depan bangsa dan negara.

Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Pada Layanan Bimbingan Dan Konseling

Character education is an important tool in the formation of student character. In practical guidance and counseling services in the schooling setting, character education is implemented through two ways, first directly through the services of guidance and counseling provided to students/counselees, which are grouped into four components: (1) the component of basic service, (2) the component of responsive service, (3) the component of individual planning service, and (4) the components of the system support service. Loads of character education materials written in guidance and counseling services that include the areas of personal guidance, social guidance, learning guidance, career guidance, and character development. Second, indirectly, by example attitude and behavior of guidance and counseling teachers/counselors along with the cultivation of creative cultural, innovative, productive, collaborative, discipline, sense of belonging, and responsibility.
